In Scalp protect mode, the Time-of-Flight sensor automatically lowers the temperature when the hair dryer gets closer to the hair to protect the scalp. To maintain a comfortable constant temperature near the scalp.²

This is how Scalp protect works
Measures the distance
The Time-of-Flight sensor continuously projects an invisible infrared beam to measure the distance between the device and your hair.

Automatic protection
The air temperature automatically lowers as you get closer to your hair and scalp. For gentle drying up close with a pleasant temperature.²

Gentle up-close drying
Compatible with the gentle air attachment, styling concentrator and smoothing nozzle.³ Intelligently adjusts temperature settings for added convenience.

Pauses styling when you do it
Pause detection uses a motion-sensing accelerometer to know when the machine is put down during styling or used with sectioning. Automatic heater deactivation, reduced airflow and noise.

Learns your styling preferences and adapts accordingly
Intelligent attachments are preset with recommended airflow and temperature settings that you can customize. Attachment recognition uses a Hall sensor to determine which styling attachment is attached and automatically switches to the last settings used.³

The light capsule shows the air temperature
The floating light capsule changes color, from cool blue to bright red, to show the current heat setting.

Flyaway Smoother attachment
Style and finish your hair with Coanda airflow. Two modes in one.

Smoothing mode
Coanda airflow attracts hair to the surface of the brush. Air is then propelled along the hair strands for a smooth, straighter style.

Flyaway mode
Switch modes to focus the Coanda airflow and lift longer hairs to the front, hiding flyaways below. Use on dry hair for a shiny finish.

Scalp protect mode
A Time of Flight sensor automatically adjusts to maintain an optimal target temperature for improved moisture retention.

Attachment learning
A Hall sensor recognises each attachment as you use it and automatically adjusts to your go-to styling preferences.³

Pause detect
An accelerometer detects movement and knows when the machine is put down, deactivating the heater and decreasing airflow.
